Well, this Black Friday was the time for me to explore some options to refresh home-lab hardware. I was looking for small form factor machines that pack a punch.
I’ve been dedicated to my SuperMicro E300-9D-8CN8TP and still retaining the 3 I use for a vSAN cluster, I’ve not been able to find something along the lines of that in a refresh. After some recommendations from fellow members of the vcommunity Dale Hassinger (vCROCS) and Daniel Krieger (SDN-Warrior | Daniel Krieger) I finally decided to pull the trigger on the Minis Forum MS-01. There is a deal still going on, I purchased 4 of the following Minisforum Mini Work Station MS-01, and I elected for the Intel Core i9 13900 barebone system.
